Close to downtown and the north bridge to Siesta, the "Flower" and "Citrus" Streets are very very popular! Again, it is all about location! As I write this, South Gate is undergoing some significant transitions with many of the 1930s to 1960s homes being removed and replaced with sleek, compact modern houses. There are, however, still enough terrazzo-floored block houses to suit the Atomic Ranch personality, and an occasional Ocala Block or Sarasota School of Modern Architecture house will pop onto the market.
Popular for its location, South Gate has many great restaurants and boutiques. Residentially is notably quiet in the evenings. South Gate does attract the more eclectic personality - independent spirited, art and food minded individual, as well as investors who know that it's a good place to have a rental.
